I am a beginner gardener, but I have a wooden fence around 7 feet high, and I want to get some ivy. What can I do, take some cuttings of ivy and other plants at the base of the fence? Am I obligated to put a good foundation at the base of the fence? I really have no idea. Your help would be very grateful.
